Dr Yaprak chose plastic surgery because he wanted a career where he could genuinely make a difference to people's lives — not just physically, but in how they feel about themselves. Whether restoring function after injury, removing a skin cancer, or helping someone feel comfortable in their own body, he is driven by the real impact that surgery can have on a person's confidence and quality of life.

He takes time to understand what each patient wants to achieve, is honest about what is realistic, and believes the best results are natural ones — where the outcome fits the person rather than announcing itself. Patients consistently describe him as straightforward, calm, and genuinely invested in their outcome.

Dr Yaprak holds the FEBOPRAS — the European Board qualification in Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery, recognised by the Medical Council of New Zealand as equivalent to FRACS (Plastic Surgery). He is vocationally registered as a specialist plastic surgeon in New Zealand.

Is Dr Yaprak a fully qualified specialist plastic surgeon in New Zealand?

What is the difference between a plastic surgeon and a cosmetic surgeon in New Zealand?

In New Zealand, a specialist plastic surgeon has completed a minimum of 12 years of medical training and surgical specialist training, and is vocationally registered by the Medical Council of New Zealand. The title "cosmetic surgeon" is not a protected or regulated title in NZ — meaning any doctor can legally call themselves a cosmetic surgeon without specialist surgical training. What does FEBOPRAS mean and is it equivalent to FRACS?

FEBOPRAS stands for Fellow of the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. It is awarded by the European Board of Medical Specialties (UEMS) and requires passing both written and oral specialist examinations.
