These are typical all-inclusive prices in NZ dollars, including GST. After your consultation you'll receive a written estimate for your own procedure, valid for 90 days. Your final price may differ depending on what your surgery involves.

What the price covers

Most people assume the bulk of a surgical price goes to the surgeon. In fact the largest share is usually the hospital and theatre. Our prices include all of it, so you won't receive separate bills afterwards.

Hospital and theatre
Usually the biggest part of the cost. Braemar Private Hospital for general anaesthetic procedures, or our in-rooms theatre for local anaesthetic.

Anaesthetist
A specialist anaesthetist looks after you throughout any general anaesthetic procedure.

Surgeon
Dr Yaprak's fee for the operation itself and your care afterwards.

Aftercare
Nursing, dressings, consumables and all follow-up appointments for six weeks.

Lower eyelid surgery is quoted after assessment because the technique varies. It depends on whether skin, muscle or fat needs treating, and whether it's combined with upper eyelid surgery.

Liposuction depends on how many areas are treated, the volume, and whether it's combined with another procedure.

Skin lesion and skin cancer surgery

The cost depends on the size and position of the lesion, and how the wound needs to be closed: stitches, a local flap or a skin graft. Many lesions can be removed on the same day as your consultation.

These procedures are done in our in-rooms theatre under local anaesthetic or sedation. The price includes theatre, nursing, dressings and six weeks of follow-up.
Insurance: Southern Cross and most other health insurers cover these procedures. Bring your policy details to your consultation and we'll help with your claim.

Common questions about fees

How much is a consultation?

An initial consultation is $275. If you're considering cosmetic surgery, any further consultations before your operation are free. Skin lesion consultations start from $233, and follow-up consultations for non-cosmetic patients are $151.

What's included in the surgical price?

The surgeon's fee, the anaesthetist, the hospital or in-rooms theatre, nursing care, dressings and consumables, and all follow-up appointments for six weeks after surgery. You won't receive any other invoices.

Why does surgery cost more than I expected?

Most of the price is the hospital, theatre and anaesthetist rather than the surgeon. Some quotes you see elsewhere are for the surgeon's fee only, with the hospital and anaesthetist billed separately, so it's worth checking what's included when you compare.

Does Southern Cross cover plastic surgery?

Dr Yaprak is a Southern Cross Affiliated Provider. Skin cancer surgery, hand surgery and some reconstructive procedures are often covered or partly covered. Purely cosmetic surgery generally isn't. Bring your policy details and we'll tell you what may apply.

Do I need a GP referral?

Not for cosmetic surgery. For skin cancer, hand surgery or reconstructive procedures, a GP referral is helpful and is often required by your insurer or ACC.

How long is an estimate valid for?

90 days from the date it's issued. If you decide to go ahead after that, we'll send you an updated estimate.

I live in Auckland. Can I see Dr Yaprak?

Yes. Many of our patients come from Auckland, the Bay of Plenty and further afield. Hamilton is about 90 minutes from Auckland on SH1, and there's free parking at Waikato Specialist Centre.

How do I pay?

Surgery fees are paid in full before your surgery date. We don't offer payment plans. If your procedure may be covered by Southern Cross or another insurer, we can help with the pre-approval and claim.
